FRED ARNDT |  bio

Frederick Arndt is a native of Michigan with a lifelong interest in the arts and architecture. He earned his bachelor's degree from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan and his graduate degree from the Sloan School Of Business at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. After a 32 year career in engineering and management at General Motors, he retired in 2005 to enter and exciting second career as an artist.

Fred's artistic designs are strongly influenced by the iconic shapes and forms  of 20th Century Design. The genre he focuses on include mid century modern, retro space and atomic age, retro futuristic and abstract geometric art. His works includes metal and wood sculptures and wall art.

Utilizing "old school" creativity, all of his designs are hand drawn with paper and pencil, using some of the same mechanical drawing tools that his dad used while going to school in the 1930's. Attention to detail guides the design and fabrication of his work.

Fred's work has a been shown at modernism shows across he country including Palm Springs, Los Angeles, and Santa Fe. His work has been featured in various newspapers and magazines including the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Dwell, and House Beautiful.
