BRET PHILPOT |  bio

For 35 years, Bret Philpot lived in both Palm Springs and the Hi-Desert. He now calls Albuquerque, New Mexico home for the last 3 years. Creatively, they have many things in common but the change is also a whole new world. New cultures and new environments have been an inspiration. His recent series of work, he refers to as his Escarpment paintings. Inspired by the Land Of Enchantment's stunning beauty of an often untouched land, soaring skies and running rivers. His hues and abstract textures project both and earthy groundedness and a light vibrancy of the inspiring outdoors.

Since 1997, he has shown at various galleries such

as Circle Elephant Art in Los Angeles, Melissa Morgan Fine Art in Palm Desert to Red Arrow Gallery in Joshua Tree. His last solo exhibition in Palm Springs was 2026 at Ted Casablanca Gallery.

After decades of respect for Steven Janssen, it seems fitting that his return to Palm Springs is at the sophisticated and exciting Janssen Artspace.

May you be immersed in Philpot's interpretation of our beautiful Mother Nature.
