ROBERT WEBSTER
I started out replicating four basic shapes, (flat, butterfly, plate-fold, and gable roof) digitally on a Cricket, using mat board as my medium.
I've begun using hand cut balsa and bass wood fictional facades with less solid space mounted on painted canvas - covered art board. Each piece unique in their detail: doors and faux rock / brick / block / bead board / board and batten surface treatments. All details are hand cut, finished and constructed. My personal preference is economy of line, opposing, muted or no color. Shadow and texture carries just as much weight, negative space being as important as positive.
