Crystal Michaelson is a Los Angeles based intuitive mixed media artist within the tradition of abstract expressionism. Her practice is driven by gestural mark making that responds to the societal, environmental, political and personal forces shaping her daily experience. Through instinctive movement and layered materials, Michaelson translates emotion into form, producing work that is immediate, visceral and unapologetically raw.
